 leased to welcome our guest speaker\, Paolo Rodi. This session will explo
 re high-altitude illnesses from both a medical and public health perspecti
 ve\, with a focus on the real risks faced by climbers and trekkers worldwi
 de—especially in remote areas where access to care is limited.The talk w
 ill include insights from a recent expedition in Argentina\, where a light
 weight CPAP-based approach was tested as a potential tool for managing alt
 itude-related conditions in the field. This will serve as a practical exam
 ple of how innovation can be adapted to extreme environments.The discussio
 n will also examine the Nepalese context\, highlighting the working condit
 ions of guides and porters\, as well as the social and cultural dynamics o
 f mountain tourism. Particular attention will be given to unequal exposure
  to risk and the broader implications for safety and sustainability in hig
 h-altitude regions.Speaker Bio Paolo Rodi Is a medical doctor with a back
 ground in trauma and emergency surgery\, currently working in Switzerland.
  His work focuses on disaster medicine\, global surgery\, and humanitarian
  health\, with a particular interest in improving access to care in resour
 ce-limited settings.He is actively involved in mountain and extreme enviro
 nment medicine\, combining clinical practice\, research\, and field experi
 ence in high-altitude regions such as the Andes and the Himalayas. He is a
 lso co-founder of Medical Pirates\, a project aimed at making medical know
 ledge more accessible through engaging and educational content.We look for
