Computer chips are everywhere – and the vast majority of them are made in Asia. Beat De Coi does things differently. His company designs, manufactures, and tests its semiconductors entirely in Switzerland, from wafer to finished chip.

He started in 2006, when no one was yet talking about chip dependency. Before that, he had already founded a company that became a global market leader. He explains what it takes to manufacture semiconductors in Switzerland: technically, economically, and politically.
