  an inspiring dinner hosted by Rotaract Club Zurich International\, where 
 we are pleased to welcome our guest speaker\, Paolo Rodi. This session wi
 ll explore high-altitude illnesses from both a medical and public health p
 erspective\, with a focus on the real risks faced by climbers and trekkers
  worldwide—especially in remote areas where access to care is limited.Th
 e talk will include insights from a recent expedition in Argentina\, where
  a lightweight CPAP-based approach was tested as a potential tool for mana
 ging altitude-related conditions in the field. This will serve as a practi
 cal example of how innovation can be adapted to extreme environments.The d
 iscussion will also examine the Nepalese context\, highlighting the workin
 g conditions of guides and porters\, as well as the social and cultural dy
 namics of mountain tourism. Particular attention will be given to unequal 
 exposure to risk and the broader implications for safety and sustainabilit
 y in high-altitude regions.Speaker Bio Paolo Rodi Is a medical doctor wit
 h a background in trauma and emergency surgery\, currently working in Swit
 zerland. His work focuses on disaster medicine\, global surgery\, and huma
 nitarian health\, with a particular interest in improving access to care i
 n resource-limited settings.He is actively involved in mountain and extrem
 e environment medicine\, combining clinical practice\, research\, and fiel
 d experience in high-altitude regions such as the Andes and the Himalayas.
  He is also co-founder of Medical Pirates\, a project aimed at making medi
 cal knowledge more accessible through engaging and educational content.We

 ill meet at 7:00 PM\, and the presentation will start at 7:20 PM (30 minut
